The Development of Endocyclic Reactions: Applications to Reaction Mechanisms and Asymmetric Syntheses

The endocyclic restriction test will be applied to the determination of the transition structure geometries, and thereby the mechanisms, of substitution and addition reactions at phosphorus, oxygen, sulfur, chlorine, and fluorine. The use of endocyclic proton transfers to provide enantioenriched organolithium reagents by asymmetric deprotonations which are highly enantioselective will be explored.
