Guinean arts educator, teacher, choreographer, dancer and musician Alseny Soumah was George A. Miller Visiting Artist during Spring semester 2010 (January 18-May 6, 2010).  He was brought to campus by the Robert E. Brown Center for World Music (School of Music) in collaboration with the Department of Dance.  He participated in a number of on- and off-campus activities, including training dancers for a performance at KCPA (Center for World Music's Spring concert of Mande Music and Dance) and an outreach program in the Champaign Public Schools.
