Event Description

There are few aspects of Latin American life that articulate the coming together of the Native American, African and European heritages as clearly and as forcefully as music.

Venezuelan-based Ensamble Gurrufio has delighted audiences around the world with their unique style and interpretation of the joroposmerengues and valses of their native land "infusing the songs and dances with all the joy, imagination and excitement humanly allowable." Gurrufio is a production of the Music of the Americas Program, a presentation of the Sante Fe Chamber Music Festival 1992.
