Event Description

THIS LECTURE WAS CANCELEDBiotechnology is the new queen of the sciences.  Once mathematics ruled, then physics: now it is biotech.  The old sciences changed our sense of the world: the new ones are changing our sense of ourselves.  It is an exhilarating time, but also a scary one.  We are challenged both as individuals and as societies.  As we learn more about our biology, will it trump our personal and social selves?  This lecture invites us to think about what is happening to human identities today, at every level—from the cell to the species.
