Gunther Schuller sits down with University of Illinois Horn Professor Bernhard Scully for a far ranging conversation covering jazz, classical music, musicology, the history of music in America from 1950 to the present, conducting, composition, music administration, music publishing and the recording industry.

Gunther Schuller's multifaceted career has spanned an amazing seven decades.  A Grammy Award winning musical icon, MacArthur Fellow and Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Schuller is the President and founder of GM Recordings, President and founder of Gunmar Publishing Company, world-renowned conductor, former President of the New England Conservatory, acclaimed music historian, prolific author and jazz musician.
