Event Description

British social reformer Eglantyne Jebb observed earlier this century that "All wars are a war against children." In her work with international relief committees, Harriet Jakobsson has seen the continued truth of these words reflected in situations as diverse as Latvia, Lebanon, the Sudan, and Vietnam.

The Fifth Annual Daniel S. Sanders Peace and Justice Lecture Internationally known as a leader in efforts to achieve world peace, human rights, and social justice, Daniel S. Sanders was dean of the UIUC School of Social Work from 1986 to 1989.
